Players Can Suit Up with First Downloadable Costume Pack Beginning November 15

November 15, 2011 –Disney Interactive Studios brings extra mayhem and magic to its’ latest video game, Disney Universe, with the downloadable “Disney Villains Costume Pack” available now.  The “Disney Villains Costume Pack” is the first downloadable content available for Disney Universe on the Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network and the PlayStation®Network.  Players can suit up and battle friends in five brand new costumes inspired by Disney’s most infamous villains including Cruella de Vil (101 Dalmatians), Hades (Hercules), Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), The Evil Queen (Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs) and Ursula (The Little Mermaid).

Individual costumes for the upcoming “Disney Villains Costume Pack” will be available for download for 99 cents on PlayStation Network or for 80 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE, and the complete package will be available for $2.99 on PlayStation Network or for 240 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE.

Disney Universe plans to introduce additional downloadable content in the future including the “Jungle Book Costume Pack” in January inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 1967 release and the “Muppets Costume Pack” in March with costumes based on Kermit, Miss Piggy, and their friends.

Disney Universe offers a four-person multiplayer action experience, with frenzied gameplay that appeals to players of all ages. The game features 45 classic and contemporary iconic character costumes inspired by well-known and legendary properties, such as the Disney•Pixar hits WALL•E and Monsters, Inc., Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Academy Award® winning classics The Lion King and Aladdin.

BURBANK, Calif  --  November 8, 2011 – Disney Interactive Studios today announced that a free demo of Disney Universe, the first video game that brings together characters and worlds inspired by both animated and live-action films from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures, is now available as a free download on Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network and PlayStation® Network.

Disney Universe offers a four-person multiplayer action experience, with frenzied gameplay that appeals to players of all ages. The game features 45 classic and contemporary iconic character costumes inspired by well-known and legendary properties, such as the Disney•Pixar hits WALL•E and Monsters, Inc., Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Academy Award® winning classics, The Lion King and Aladdin.

The downloadable demo features swashbuckling adventures with the first level of the game’s Pirates of the Caribbean world and includes costumes inspired by Stitch from Lilo & Stitch, Mike Wazowski from Monsters, Inc., Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean and one of Disney’s most beloved characters of all time, Mickey Mouse.

In addition to the downloadable demo of the game, consumers who are interested in getting a first-hand look at Disney Universe can also visit a participating Best Buy store beginning December 12. Select store locations will have an Xbox 360^®video game and entertainment system available for consumers to play the demo of the game.

Players Will Enter a Mix-Up of Disney and Disney•Pixar Inspired Worlds This Fall

 

BURBANK, Calif  --  (May 26, 2011) – Disney Interactive Studios announced today that Disney Universe, a fast-paced multiplayer action adventure game,  is currently in development for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, Wii™ and Windows PC/MAC.  In Disney Universe, players will experience non-stop action through a mix-up of worlds inspired by both animated and live action films from Disney, including titles from Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney Pictures. Players will suit-up as iconic Disney and Disney•Pixar characters and embark on adventures to power up their hero, battle powerful adversaries and master challenging puzzles to save the universe.  Disney Universe is slated for release in fall 2011.

 

“Disney Universe is a vast treasure chest of Disney properties with memorable characters, places and experiences that gamers, as well as Disney fans will enjoy,” said Adam Sussman, senior vice president of publishing, Disney Interactive Media Group.  “The fast-paced, frenetic gameplay combined with wacky humor and hilarious situations make Disney Universe the perfect game to play with family and friends.”

 

In Disney Universe, players can select from more than 40 classic and contemporary Disney character costumes, including Alice (“Alice in Wonderland”), Mike (“Monsters, Inc.”), TRON (“TRON: Legacy”) and Stitch (“Lilo & Stitch”) to explore six different worlds inspired by legendary Disney and Disney•Pixar films.  Each world will allow players to experience objectives and missions that follow Disney and Disney•Pixar movie storylines.  Players will select a character-based costume, with each costume offering a specific tool that changes and grows in power as players adventure through the game.  Disney Universe offers frenetic gameplay, multiplayer with up to three friends and slapstick humor that will appeal to players of all ages.

 

The fun will continue on with plans for Disney Universe to be an expanding universe post-launch with items for download and new content available.  Additional worlds, costumes, and more will be available for purchase, giving Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 system owners an ever-evolving gameplay experience.
